It is preferred to perform this procedure when a woman has several children and wants to stop childbearing, and it is not preferred if the woman is young because one of the rare complications of this procedure is the inability to conceive again.
Laparoscopic Tubal Ligation
Laparoscopic tubal ligation is one of the modern methods discovered for contraception, where the fallopian tubes are cut or tied with a laparoscope, and this does not affect a woman's menstrual cycle.
Is Pregnancy Possible After Tubal Ligation?
It is highly unlikely that pregnancy will occur after tubal ligation. Statistics have shown that it is possible for an error to occur during the procedure depending on the skill and experience of the doctor, making it possible for one woman out of every two hundred to become pregnant after undergoing this surgery.
Pregnancy may occur abnormally after tubal ligation, which is ectopic pregnancy, posing a serious risk to a woman's health. Therefore, it is necessary to immediately seek treatment for this pregnancy by a gynecologist.
Finally, if a woman wishes to conceive again, it may be possible to undergo a procedure to reverse tubal ligation, but it should be noted that the likelihood of pregnancy after this procedure ranges from 50% to 80%, so it is customary that women who do not want to conceive at all resort to tubal ligation.
